New Hampshire Vacation 2014 Day #7 part 2

July 26th
Going home

Before we headed home we had some more shopping to do and the girls had more scavenger hunt items to find. The older kids headed home sooner than we did. Amanda and Chris took the dog home with them.

One of the places we go to on vacation is to the Christmas Loft. It's fun to look around inside.

We went to Fields of Ambrosia in North Conway. I love their soap and got some Lemongrass Sage body butter.  We had lunch in Jackson at J-Town Deli. Its a little country store and they make really good sandwiches and soups. The menu is always different so we get something new each time we go.

Eventually, we headed home.
Here's some random photos taken during the week :)

New Hampshire Vacation 2014- Day #7 part 1

July 26th

We had to get up fairly early, pack the cars and clean the house. Every time we leave a vacation property, we take photos of every room. I guess its to cover our butts if we are accused of breaking anything but mostly so we can remember the house.

Photo tour of the Albany house

When you walk in the door (up on the deck) you enter the kitchen

New Hampshire Vacation 2014- Day #6

July 25th

We had plans to take our nephew to Storyland but he was having too much fun camping with my brother Billy. We didn't want to mess that up. We decided to take him another time, later in the season.

Breakfast casserole ( got the idea from Pinterest)

That morning I made Egg and Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole.. I got the idea off of Pinterest but I didn't really follow the recipe exactly. It wanted you to use muffin pans and the house didn't have any. So I combined all the ingredients into a pyrex casserole dish. I actually made it twice during the week and the kids seemed to like it. They ate it all anyway!
Basically you line the pan with the tater tots.
Mix up about a dozen eggs with some milk and a little black pepper. Add whatever you'd like such as peppers, onions, bacon, chopped coldcut ham... whatever you have in the house.  I needed to use up what was in the fridge.
Pour egg mixture over the tots in the pan and cover with shredded cheese. Then bake. You might want to follow a better recipe, I found one Here

I snapped this pic with my cell. Howie is on his ipod touch,  Jeremy is on his smart phone and Brittny is on her laptop. They are also watching TV. Most of the week the older kids came and went on their own and did their own thing. Sometimes it was just sitting around and doing this.. and that was ok! I feel bad that the older kids weren't in as many photos so I tried to sneak them whenever I could.

Later we took the girls shopping and they crossed some items off of their scavenger hunt list.
When we got back to have dinner, Paul had started a campfire. He used vegetable oil, I thought that was pretty ingenious!

I have no idea what Howie is doing. Let's assume he was drunk lol

I had to use Flash for those photos.. It was so dark out there! Here is a more accurate photo

The kids came in and some played Mousetrap while Amanda and Chris hung out in front of the TV... I started to pack to go home the morning :(

New Hampshire Vacation 2014- Day #5 part 3

July 24th
Part 3
Chutters in Littleton, NH

Chutters in Littleton New Hampshire holds the world record for longest candy counter. I believe its 112 feet long. They also sell fudge, chocolates and all kinds of gifts shop items.
All blue labeled candy jars are 10.99 a pound. The kids wear a plastic glove and use the gloved hand to get the candy out of the jar and put it inside white paper bags. There is a scale so you can weigh your bags so you don't go crazy!

Every time we go to Chutters we always go around the corner to the Riverwalk Covered Bridge. It's 300 feet long and crosses over the Ammonoosuc River.

It was really getting late and we still had a long trip back to the vacation house. As we drove out of Littleton and onto 93 the sun had gone down. I saw a bunch of deer on the side of the highway. When we got to Lincoln it was so dark and we had to drive over the Kancamagus highway. I do not recommend doing this. It's scary! We were nervous that moose or deer were going to run in front of us and other than our high beams, it was pitch black.

We made it back in one piece and Jeremy and Brittny had made Amanda a birthday cake.
Here's a video of us singing Happy Birthday to her. The singing is hysterical!
